{Fall} Hometown Hunt | Family Activities, Fun & Finds In or Near Anderson, SC

I have often been asked, when people find out I grew up at the beach, “And you choose to live in ANDERSON??“. I love the Upstate of SC. Here in Anderson, we’re about 20 minutes (not including game day traffic) from Clemson, 30 minutes from Greenville, right beside a lake and close to two others, 3-5 hours from the beach, 45 minutes to the mountains, and 2 hours to Charlotte or Atlanta. We have four seasons, more than three types of tress, and pretty good weather year round. It is a good spot. Of course you have your occasional bad apple, but for the most part Anderson is a little town full of loving people in the western corner of SC.

I love fall too. I mean really, when it comes down to it, I love all the seasons for one reason or another. There are so many reasons to love fall, though: crunchy leaves, beautiful colors, pumpkins, football, hot apple cider, roasting marshmallows, fall decor, sweaters, boots, did I mention football?

Below you’ll find a list of some fun events and special spots in or around Anderson, SC… if I missed something, let me know, and I’ll be glad to add it to the list! We here at The Olive Shoe love celebrating, local entertainment, event planning, apple picking, pumpkin carving, painting or decorating and everything else that comes with fall!!
